"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Lucky Last - Hannah & Sam's wedding day - Whangarei Photographer

What a stunning garden setting for a wedding! Hannah & Sam wanted bright, colourful, relaxed images of their wedding day........ no arty blurred out backgrounds (I can see why they wanted the backgrounds in focus!)

There were just so many different nooks and crannies within this garden to photograph in. And it was a fabulous place for their guests too, with lots of big shady trees.......... and different parts of the garden to use for nibbles and drinks before retiring to the double tepee for dinner. With the added bonus that their guests could watch us meander around the garden doing the bridal photos - although we did disappear for a bit over half an hour to the beach.

This is my last wedding, and what a fabulous wedding it was! I am really pleased that I got to spend the day with Hannah, Sam and their bridal party. Although I have really loved photographing weddings, they take a lot of planning & preparation time, which I feel I am no longer having enough time to do this justice. So from now on I will be focusing on photographing what I am particularly passionate about; newborns, young children (and older), families and maternity.

Growing Families - Whangarei Baby Photographer

I had fun with this gorgeous wee boy in my studio this morning. I was really looking forward to meeting him and his big sister; I photographed his big sister when she was a newborn, so it is always a thrill to see them all grown up. I have a lovely photo of Miss 2 peeking down her brother's shirt to find where her Daddy had hidden 'a red lolly' - but that image will have to wait until later :-)

Big Grins - Whangarei Children's Photographer

I totally love photographing newborns, but you can't beat the unhindered huge big gummy grins of older infants.

Mr J, at just 6 months old, was such a delight. He arrived to my studio yesterday a little bit serious, but that quickly disappeared and was replaced by his huge big grins. Lucky for me Mum knew just what set off his beautiful smiles. Such a placid child, he coped well with quick set and clothing changes.

Carl & Natasha's wedding - Northland Wedding Photographer

What a simply stunning day Carl & Tash's Wedding Day turned out to be.

I was expecting and planning for a misty rainy day (at best) or constant rain (at worst). Even Met Service couldn't make up it's mind regarding the weather. In the end we had drizzle right up to 2 hours before the ceremony, then nice cloud........... and just as the ceremony was about to start out came the sun, and literally dried up all the rain! I even ended up a little sunburnt.

The only problem with all the rain and then suddenly hot sun...... was the humidity!!! There was very little breeze even on the waterfront, so trying to get close 'snuggly' shots was not quite as easy as it sounds :-) But Carl and Tash were troupers, and have ended up with some beautiful shots........
