"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Ooh So Sleepy - Whangarei Newborn Art Photographer

For a little boy who doesn’t like to be naked, this 8 day old newborn was sooo sleepy and contented. This was a first for me; a newborn to sleep through their entire photoshoot. Not only that, but he didn’t wee or poo on anything!
He allowed us to do a couple of setups which Mum and Dad had requested. Being so relaxed his head was a little too floppy, so I had to enlist Dad’s help to support him - we will photoshop Dad’s hand out later:-)

Enjoy!

Beautifully Blonde - Whangarei Newborn Photographer

For a little newborn this wee man had so much hair, which isn’t all that surprising except that it was blonde! Most blonde babies only have a tiny waft of hair (including all 3 of mine). And he was so extra sleepy for his photoshoot – we managed to get all his photos done without him waking, only topping him up for his family photos.

With having an older ‘superman’ brother bouncing around, I can see how he managed to sleep right through his photoshoot:-)

Enjoy!

P is for Petite - Whangarei Newborn Photographer

You know you’re getting old when ……………. you remember a blonde little boy running around at the beach, playing in the sand……….. and now you’re photographing his baby.
I had the pleasure of photographing this contented little blonde lady for family friends – and she is a splitting image of her father’s baby photos. I can’t wait to see her growing up – whether she’ll continue to take after her father, or become more like her beautiful Muma.

C is for 'Cute' - Whangarei Children's Photographer

Young Mr C arrived to see me with loads of smiles, from the moment he arrived. But pull out a camera, and he goes all serious on us:-). With a bit of coaxing from Mum and Dad I managed to capture his gorgeous big grins. At 4 months old he was so much fun……….. and I managed to get in a quick cuddle too!

Precious Fighter - Whangarei Newborn Photographer

Sometimes you can say it all in a title - and this title certainly speaks volumes for this wee newborn (or not quite so new born).

This wee bubs and her Mum have spent months in hospital, holding on one day at a time.............seeing the inside of two hospitals, NICU and SCBU. While Dad managed the daily lives of her siblings, with lots of travel and weekend visits. Often we forget the struggle that some families have to go through, just taking for granted that things will go smoothly.

So I was very honoured that I got to meet this little lady, and take her newborn photos. She was 9 weeks old before she got to visit me, but only 3 weeks past her due date. Still small and 'newborn' looking, but she was a fighter........... and she fought against going to sleep. Luckily Mum & Dad are old hands, and managed to get their precious wee girl to peacefully slumber :-)

Enjoy your preview.........

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Most precious

I love photographing newborn babies. I love just how besotted new parents are, and this Mum was definitely no exception. What was also so special about this wee lass's photoshoot was that Grandma was also present so I had the opportunity to photograph this wee girl with not only her Mum but also her Grandmother (but I will save those images for later).

Enjoy!
