"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

A is for Awesome - Whangarei Newborn Photographer

Mum and Dad travelled quite a way for their wee boy's newborn photography shoot. At just 5 days old he was a little delight. He allowed me to do all sorts with him, but he soon told me when he'd been curled up for long enough and it was time to stretch out. He was really funny :) His start to this world has been a little eventful but it doesn't seem to have fazed him. Although I learnt that his feet are ticklish!

I love it when clients bring their own props to try out. Below Mr A is wearing his own hat - I LOVE IT!

Thank you so much Mum and Dad for bringing your wee guy to see me.

The quilt also belongs to Mr A (it is gorgeous).

Northand Wedding Photographer - Andrew & Vicki

As a wedding photographer I am always watching the weather closely around Whangarei and Northland as a wedding day approaches. But I hadn't realised just how close we came to a weather disaster for Andrew and Vicki's beach wedding. They had a beautiful day, sunny with a few clouds, some wind to keep the heat in check. The following day it rained..... and the day after we were hit by a storm, with severe wind and flood warnings. Like I said, they were very lucky!

Their day was full of laughter..... compliments of a bridal party who weren't too interested in formality. Just my style! Check out their photos below (and I can't take credit for the great bridal party images, it was almost all the ideas of the bridesmaids and groomsmen).........

I don't usually post so many photos, but this is my last wedding for the season, so I thought I would post a few extras.

This was their idea of a bridal party portrait (what else can I say?)

Again, this was the bridal party's inspiration

I asked the girls to stand by the rocks...... they weren't in to formal :-)

.... and the boys couldn't be outdone. They climbed twice as high. Always easier going up than down :)

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Quiet Mr F

It was such an honour to meet this little man, especially because I had photographed his Mum and Dad's wedding a few years ago. It is such a treat to see families grow, and the love they share.

This wee guy arrived to his photoshoot wide awake, but he was just so chilled out. With a few tricks up our sleeve it didn't take long and he was snoozing away (and I even managed to sneek in a cuddle). With all the changes of set-ups he didn't wake once. With a stretch and a wriggle he was back to the land of slumber.

Thank you Mum and Dad for bringing your precious wee boy to me for his newborn photoshoot. Enjoy your preview......

Whangarei Photographer - Gravel Road

A friend asked me to take a few promotional images of their band. It was a first for me. They had recorded a promotional CD and were setting up a website so therefore needed a few shots. We did a range of setups. They didn't want anything too polished, so just did their own thing while I snapped away.
I've heard them play a few times now and they are a great band. I highly recommend you check them out.

Whangarei Photographer - School Photo time

It is that time of year again, school and kindy photos. Hence why I haven't posted for a while. These sessions are so very full on, but also very rewarding. They are a very affordable option to getting a beautiful portrait of your child from a professional photographer. The only downside is the lack of time that can be spent with each child/ family in creating a unique portrait. So I have to pick an easy pose to show the children, and one that they are comfortable with.

I don't post photos from these sessions simply because I don't have parents permission. But here is one of my children........ my son was trying hard not to smile, but his friends were giving him heaps :)
