"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Whangarei Baby Photographer - S is for Sweetheart

This wee bubs was 8 weeks old when she came to see me. Not only that but Mum said she doesn't sleep much during the day. So we pumped up the fire and hoped for the best :) (And yes, Mum and I cooked!)
We shouldn't have worried. Miss S was an absolute dream and allowed me to try a number of different poses. She didn't even flinch as we changed her hats and headbands.

But she decided she'd had enough of being asleep when we tried a pose that Mum wanted. Oh well, she was happily awake for a whole lot of awake shots!........ not to mention the smiles...........

Whangarei Portrait Photographer - L is for Lovely

Lovely is a perfect way to descibe the morning that I had photographing Miss L. She was a dream to photograph, slumbering away the entire shoot. A slight winge (and it was very slight), a quick top-up, and back into having photos with Mum. We even managed to capture a beautiful smile too.........

Thank you Mum for bringing her to see me. Enjoy.

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - 8 weeks old

OK, so 8 weeks old is not technically a newborn. But this little lady arrived so small that she is only now the size of a newborn. As you can see, she is a lot more alert and 'knowing' than a newborn. But luckily for me she is also a very calm and contented wee lass. With a bit of persistence from me and Mum we finally got her off to sleep - but she wasn't too impressed whenever we tried to move her arms or legs while she was snoozing :)

Thank you Mum and Dad for bringing your precious wee girl to see me.

This monkey was a special gift for Baby O, and just the perfect size for a cuddle.

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Little Princess

Little Miss R came to me at 5 weeks old, a lot older than I'd like but sometimes things just don't go the way we plan in those early weeks. She was an absolute gem for doing some awake shots, but when it was time for her to go to sleep........ she had other ideas!

Getting her to sleep was not too much of a problem. Keeping her asleep was the issue :)) And she knew something was up because every time she heard the camera shutter sound she was instantly awake again. But I managed to get a couple of sleepy shots - camera in my right hand and patting her bottom with my left (she woke as soon as I stopped). But we can't complain, she really was a contented wee bubs, just not a sleepy one :)

Whangarei Photographer - High School Ball beauties

I am a natural light photographer, but when my daughter and friends requested some pre-ball photos (and by the time they get ready it is well dark), you just have to make the most out of what you've got. So the overhead lights give a nice soft warm glow, along with my bounced flash.
