"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Mr Wakeful!

Well there is no two ways about this - Mr J was hard work! At one stage he had Mum with her finger in his mouth, Dad holding his feet in position, and me trying to get his hands and camera in the right position. It's not that he was particularly unhappy during his shoot, he just wanted to stretch out, do his own thing and stay wide awake. He was acting much more like a 4 week old rather than his 12 days.

He was scheduled to have his session at 9 days old, but we had to delay his shoot for a couple of days due to a swollen eye. So at 12 days old he should still have been snoozy and easy. But he decided there was way too much going on to sleep. But we still managed to get some great shots. And he was such a tease...... just as I thought we had finally done it, one eye would slowly open and then, yup.... he was wide awake again!

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Captivating Miss M

I have been so lucky with the newborns that have come to me lately. But this wee lady would have to be the best at letting me do just about anything. Even the best newborn gets to the stage where they have had enough posing. But this little lady did not complain until she got hungry - and as Dad had said, as long she has a full tummy she doesn't utter a peep. And sure enough, once she was full it was straight back to her photoshoot :)

And gorgeous....... did I mention just how gorgeous she was? So here she is, at all of 9 days old........

..... this is Dad's idea of planking.........

And Mum had some definite ideas of how she wanted her daughter photographed with Dad.

Thank you Mum and Dad for bringing your wee girl to see me. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her.

Whangarei Photographer - Bonnie Miss B

It is always such a pleasure to be invited back by a client to photograph the next addition to their family. I love to see these little newborns grow up into inquisitive on-the-go children. I photographed Mr N 18 months ago - he was the first newborn that I had taken outside in a basket.... so I just had to see if he still fitted in 'his' basket.

Meet Little Miss B, 5 days old. She was just so contented and snuggly (just like her big brother). Even by the end of the session she was still nice and snoozy.......... so long may it last :)   Thank you Mum and Dad for inviting me back to meet your little angle.

I love the expressions really wee babies make when they're trying to get comfy.

Mr N's newborn session......

...... and all grown up!
