"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Calm

This sweet little girl was amazing to photograph, she was calm and sooo snuggly. She happily allowed me to place her in any position, change backgrounds, put hats on her and enjoyed big brother holding her too. Mr M has to be the most gentle big brother that I have seen, he was just so careful with his little sister.

I'd just received a whole lot of hand painted marino wool hats, nappy disguises and peanut wraps from a newborn photographer in Canada, plus a few gorgeous hats from a New Zealand designer. I was dying to try some of these props out and this little lady was a perfectly beautiful model.

Whangarei Photographer - Busy Times

Each year I think that surely life must slow down next year as the kids get older. But with each passing year my life seems to get busier...... and yet I manage to find the time to fit it all in. As each year that passes and my children get older, they take on more activities...... and these activities require a taxi service to and from, and often managers and coaching. And this year has been no exception.

Lately I have been very busy photographing my local kindergartens - I offer very affordable print packages. And I've been picking up a number of schools too, as the families that I have photographed at kindergarten go off to school and refer my services to their school. This is certainly one of the best compliments that I can receive. So thank you to my clients.

I do not place images of these school or kindy shoots on my blog, so you will just have to be patient for my next blog. It shouldn't be far away........

Whangarei Wedding Photographer - Jessica & Aaron

I'm a little bit slow getting this post up, so I must apologise to this couple for having to wait so long for their preview. Jessica and Aaron were married last weekend, and chose to have their photographs taken before their ceremony. I must admit that I prefer this also...... it makes for a much more relaxed day when you're not pushed for time and rushing back to the waiting guests. The weather was beautiful, and so was the bride :) I thoroughly enjoyed  photographing such a special day for this couple. You made my job very easy!

The brief I was given was not to do too 'posy' photos, to keep it natural. So their choice of a beach was a great idea, and Woolleys Bay is just beautiful. Aaron and Jess, I hope you like this small selection....... there are plenty more to come.

Whangarei Photographer - Serious Fun

I last photographed this wee guy just over a year ago, and oh boy has he changed! His hair is just gorgeous soft curls now, but he is just as inquisitive as he was when I last saw him. He's still a serious young man, but when he smiles he just melts your heart! He doesn't smile because there is a camera, or because Mum asked him to, or the photographed showed him an aligator that laughed. What he found funny was Mum trying to throw a rock into a puddle like he had been. LOL!

As a typical boy he was right into stones, rocks, sticks, puddles and anything that he could get his hands into (plus bubbles and balls - but the muckier stuff caught his attention more!) So Mum thank you for bringing your wee guy to see me again, it was fabulous to catch up with you both.

Birds are interesting to look at..... for about 10 seconds! LOL

This saw-dust by the stump is awesome!

Chasing bubbles didn't last long :)
