"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Whangarei Photographer - So very lucky

This family was an absolute pleasure to photograph, and they have an amazing place that offered us many different possibilities to use.
And why were we 'so very lucky'? Because for the previous few days it had been raining, it rained that morning and the following morning. But for our photo shoot the weather was perfect!

These kids did their parents proud...... there was not a single complaint, willing to give anything I suggested a try. Just really chilled out and fabulous. There are many adults that aren't this co-operative :) .......... and I haven't yet mentioned just how photogenic this entire family is.......

Whangarei Portrait Photographer - A very lucky Dad

I have been photographing this family for the last four years, and it has been a great privilege watching this family grow. Steve must be one of the luckiest men around, surrounded by his four gorgeous girls. And they are so fortunate to have such a fun hands-on Dad.

We went back to our favourite park, along with a family friend and her three girls. A lovely way to spend a morning....... playing, feeding the ducks and chasing bubbles :)
Despite a recent drought the tide was exceptionally high, covering some of the lawn area (which of course made a fabulous paddling pool on a warm sunny day.

Whangarei Photographer - Brisbane Workshop

Finally I have had a spare minute to finish editing the images that I took at the recent Brisbane Newborn Photography Workshop, held by Lana Bell of Little Posers Photography.

We had the opportunity to photograph three gorgeous wee babes - Tyler (12 days old), Olivia (7 days old) and Caeley (born early, so was actually due the day we photographed her).

All three babies were perfect models. It was an exhausting but fun day.

Meet Tyler:.......

Portrait Photographer - Meet Charlotte & Amelia

While staying with my aunt in Brisbane recently I had the priviledge of meeting her two granddaughters - which, by the way, makes them my second cousins :).
These two little ladies are just gorgeous, and looking at their mum you can see where they get it from!

Here is a quick preview while I send over your images..............

Whangarei Wedding Photographer - Amber & Warren

Come January I will be having the absolute pleasure of photographing this couple on a beautiful island ..... sun, sand and hopefully no long grass :)

I decided to talk Amber and Warren into an engagement shoot that would be totally different to their wedding locations, but I hadn't quite expected just how long the grass in the paddocks had become. They are such a fabulous couple and were up for anything. The love they share is obvious in their images. I can see their wedding day is going to be filled with a lot of laughter!

Here is a sneak preview until I get your images to you. I hope you like them.........

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Meet Mr N

This little guy was such a tiny little bundle, and he had the most beautiful porcelain skin (but just look at his beautiful mum). A few weeks old but a few weeks early meant he was still just like a newborn.

It didn't take long before he let us know what he liked, and didn't like. He happily allowed me to put one hat on him, but after that he decided that hats and wraps were just way too tickly! And all this fiddling was interrupting his snooze time. Luckily for me he is such a chilled out wee boy, so mum managed to quickly top him up and he was content again.

All babies, no matter how young, have their own distinct personalities and traits. Well, little N loved to sleep with his mouth open. How cute! And he didn't like my attempts to try to get him to close his mouth LOL!

Mum and Dad, thank you for bringing him to see me. I hope you like your preview........

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Sweet Mr S

This wee guy game to see me at almost 3 weeks old. He did the age-old 'surprise trick' and arrived early, and very very small. Mum says he has been piling on the weight, but he was still just a dot! As well as so incredibly gorgeous with the longest blonde eyelashes I have ever seen :)). Not to mention plenty of hair that went into a natural mohawk.

He was just so divine to pose and photograph. He made me laugh whenever I tried to place his hands as he had pretty definite ideas about where he wanted them. And the only time he made a noise was when I tried to place a hat on him..... he must have known that Mum wanted his hair in his shots :)

I love this photo...... how Dad is just so besotted with his boy.

Whangarei Baby Photographer - S is for Sweetheart

This wee bubs was 8 weeks old when she came to see me. Not only that but Mum said she doesn't sleep much during the day. So we pumped up the fire and hoped for the best :) (And yes, Mum and I cooked!)
We shouldn't have worried. Miss S was an absolute dream and allowed me to try a number of different poses. She didn't even flinch as we changed her hats and headbands.

But she decided she'd had enough of being asleep when we tried a pose that Mum wanted. Oh well, she was happily awake for a whole lot of awake shots!........ not to mention the smiles...........

Whangarei Portrait Photographer - L is for Lovely

Lovely is a perfect way to descibe the morning that I had photographing Miss L. She was a dream to photograph, slumbering away the entire shoot. A slight winge (and it was very slight), a quick top-up, and back into having photos with Mum. We even managed to capture a beautiful smile too.........

Thank you Mum for bringing her to see me. Enjoy.
