"As a qualified Midwife I have a particular passion for photographing maternity/ pregnancy and newborns.

I love capturing those special times in people's lives that mean so much - from engagement shoots to weddings, the nervous expectation of maternity to the sheer delight and love of a newborn. And then having the pleasure to capture the personalities and changes as a child grows".

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Oh so Sweet!

So just when I think I've photographed THE MOST calm and easy baby.... another little newborn shows me that I haven't seen nothin' yet!

Meet a little sweetheart - Little Miss E was 3 weeks old when I photographed her today. She only grizzled once, Mum gave her a quick feed..... and that was it! Even after the shoot had finished, Mum just popped her on the coach and she just lay there and looked around (most shoots bubs tells me when they've had enough and it is time to stop). I think this delightful little lady would have continued on all day if we gave her half the chance :)

It was a real pleasure photographing you today, Miss E, along with your fabulous Mum and Dad.

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Delightful Mr M

This little guy came to me by referral from a previous client..... and believe it or not, I had taught the antenatal classes to this couple when they were expecting Mr M's big brother.

At just 6 days old for his first shoot, he was just delightful! We moved him, we wriggled him, we rolled him over, we changed him and pulled off his nappy.... after a little squirm he just dozed back off to sleep. He was just soooo relaxed and easy going - apart from his hands that is. He had certain ways he liked his hands and he wasn't interested in having them placed any other way! Amazing how someone so young has their own definite ideas on how they want things!

This week I have been so very busy photographing newborns.... I'm not sure if the stars are aligned correctly or someone is smiling down on me, but each baby that I've photographed this week has out-done themselves with being so incredibly chilled out. I'm crossing my fingers and toes - so long may it last! LOL

So thank you L family for inviting me into your home to photograph your two precious boys. Here is a quick peek of your images:

Whangarei Newborn Photographer - Beautiful

Meet little Miss S. At 1 week and 6 days old she was just gorgeous.... beautifully rounded out, all soft and cuddly. She was just a dream to photograph - chilled out and relaxed. When she thought she'd done enough to earn a feed she quickly let us know. And then just as quickly she was chilled out again and ready to doze off. We managed to have a play with some beads and finished off with some pics of her in a beautifully smocked dress.

The funny thing with photographing this little girl was that every time I tried to arrange her hands she would re-arrange them.... and she did a much better job at posing them than I had. LOL!
What a little angel :) I really am blessed with photographing some beautiful wee souls. Thank you A family.

Whangarei Baby Photographer - Calm

This little man was 8 weeks old by the time I got to photograph him.... sometimes that's just the way it works out. I haven't photographed many little boys of late, so was really looking forward to meeting this little man. Mum said he was a calm and laid back little dude, and she wasn't exaggerating! Little Mr L was certainly the oldest, and definitely the calmest baby I have ever photographed! He even surprised Mum by falling asleep too :)

What I found most endearing about this little guy was how similar he was to my children at this age.... big blue eyes, blond-as-blond hair (which makes it hard to see that there is actually hair there, lol).

Thank you for inviting me into your home and meeting your little man.

Whangarei Children's Photographer - Three of a Kind

These three beautiful young ladies are the daughters of a fabulous friend of mine. The K family have just shifted back up north from Wanaka, so now are a lot closer to visit. So during the school holidays I headed down with my children for a long-awaited catchup. Unfortunately Little Miss B had just come down with a tummy bug and wasn't feeling the best. Even so she was a delight...... I just had to take a photo of her ever-so-long eye lashes. I had a great time catching a few pics between 'hide-and-seek'.

Whangarei Portrait Photographer - Cousins

One thing I love about school holidays is the chance for my children to catch up with their cousins. This seems to be the one time when it really doesn't matter if they are boys or girls. They all seem to get along so well.
